Benefits

Bandcamp is an online music store that sells artists’ merchandise including albums, CDs, cassettes, etc. It also connects artists to their fans, providing direct support to the artists through the online sales.

The RyderShip | Bandcamp integration allows Bandcamp customers to integrate with RyderShip to ship their products to consumers.

Setup instructions

Complete the following steps to set up an integration between your online store, RyderShip, and Bandcamp.

Number1.png Complete these first steps in Bandcamp

1.   Be a current customer of Bandcamp. See Bandcamp for more information.

2.   Give support@whiplash.com access to your Bandcamp merch management page. You’ll use the Invite Partner page to enter support@whiplash.com, and click Send Email.

3.   RyderShip staff receives the email and accepts the invitation to your store.

4.   Next, you’ll enable your SKUs on your Bandcamp account by emailing Bandcamp.

5.   Once SKUs are enabled, assign a SKU to each item.

Lightbulb-1.pngOnly check the country boxes under "The partner fulfills orders sent from" for which you have inventory that is managed by RyderShip. Checking other countries will result in RyderShip sending a zero quantity value for those countries.

If you'd like RyderShip to fulfill from multiple origins, you'll need to add the origins to your settings under Profile in Bandcamp:

The Import Your Data page appears once your connection is made.

1.   Select whether you want to import Items or Products (almost always YES) and Orders (typically NO). Your items/SKUs load into RyderShip.

Warning.png You must import your items/products for orders to show up in RyderShip.

2.   Once your items have the same SKUs in Bandcamp and RyderShip, and RyderShip has accepted the invitation to your store, new orders made on Bandcamp will begin to show up in RyderShip.

Troubleshooting

If you have been selling your merch under a publishing label account on Bandcamp and then set up your own shop – the new shop you set up for yourself will not work in RyderShip right away. What are the next steps?

You need to reach out to Tech Support so they can make an additional update on the RyderShip side to connect RyderShip with your Bandcamp ID.

Tech Support step: TS needs to update the shop record in the integrations database so a parent_band value matches the band's bandcamp ID instead of the publisher's bandcamp ID.

What happens if Bandcamp changes any SKUs when they are being enabled on Bandcamp?

If any SKUs are changed while they are being enabled on Bandcamp, you can change the SKUs in RyderShip and Bandcamp to make sure they match.

1.    In RyderShip, click the Inventory menu, find the item, and click Details.

2.    Change the SKU, and click Update Item.

Warning.pngChanging Shipping Origins in Bandcamp resets or changes the partner access and disconnects the Bandcamp store. If this happens, reach out to your RyderShip Customer Success Manager to help reconnect Bandcamp.
