This article explains how to set the TMS ID on orders, a requirement for all Nordstrom orders. The TMS ID is required for Nordstrom orders shipping small parcel and orders going out FTL/LTL. The process for setting the tms_id differs by scenario.

  • For small parcel, you’ll use bulk actions.
  • For FTL/LTL, you’ll add the tms_id to the Reference field as part of the wholesale Loads & BOL process.

Setting the TMS ID for small parcel orders

These processes can be done by the customer or any internal user role.

If an order has tms_required = true and you try to pack/ship it without setting a tms_id, you will see a TMS Required message and must add the TMS ID before you can move forward.

Using Bulk Actions with TMS ID

You can use bulk actions to set an order to require a TMS ID and also add the actual TMS ID itself.
